Our People

Acumen Enterprises currently employs Tim Hatch as Company Director and Jenny Hatch as Company Administrator.  
We actively network with other companies that offer specialist project delivery personnel to strengthen our services as required.
 
Tim Hatch
 
Tim has twenty eight years of diverse experience in heavy engineering.  While he has been employed in project management roles for the last 15 years he is proud of his roots in a trade and the experiences gained which now strengthens the services he offers. 
During his time in project management Tim has carried out key roles in the successful delivery of projects and shutdowns from Concept to Commissioning.
 
These experiences have given Tim a personal interest and practical knowledge into the intricacies of engineering and management applications.  They have enabled him to develop robust project management skills in the Oil and Gas, and Power industries.  Key roles in Project Engineering, Construction Engineering, Project Controls and Planning have enabled him to prove that he has solid and reliable practices.

Key Experiences

Tim Hatch, the founder and director of Acumen Enterprises, has worked in various project management roles since 1998.  Prior to this time Tim worked in a trade as a Fitter and Turner and transitioned into project delivery through a brief stint as a mechanical designer. Tim has worked for contracting, consulting and operating companies and has developed a deep understanding into the strengths and weaknesses of these organisations with regard to project delivery.  Based on this understanding Tim recognised a need for specialist project delivery services, particularly in project controls and governance and has set up Acumen Enterprises with a view to meet this need.

Tim’s key successes have been delivering projects without incident, on time and within budget and understands the art of achieving this.

Tim’s experience in project delivery covers a full spectrum of minor and major projects and plant shutdowns.  He has delivered several minor projects from concept selection to commissioning ($50K to $6M) and carried out key roles in major projects up to $1B NZD. 

Through his experiences Tim has developed a keen interest in project controls and governance; including scope development, estimating, cost and man hour control, risk management and change control.
He has learnt the art of good judgment and timely decision making in the project delivery process and has chosen to specialise in providing the Services, Systems and Support required to achieving the desired outcome.
